Perotin Music

Music has been quite a powerful tool used to convey different information to different groups of people in different dispensations. Perotin goes in to history books as one of the most celebrated music geniuses ever to exist. Organum emerged to be an important polyphonic music after the Notre Dame Cathedral had dominated the Paris society (Thomas, 1901). Perotin’s music has been affiliated with confidence that originates from the artistic addition of two extra voices as well as redefining the work of his predecessor Leonn. His music knowledge led to formation of Videruntomnes & Sederunt principles which form a very crucial part of the polyphony genre.

The contributions of Perotin in the era of minimal musical instruments made sure that monophony was a rich way of composing powerful songs. He gradually intruded the polyphonic transition in the quest to enrich music and make it more productive and entertaining. Perotin is definitely a landmark in the history of music that will forever be celebrated, employed and developed.
